I know you're wanting to attack the root cause (bad parenting) with this post, but the result that those bad parents themselves create

mentally ill children

will increase with more abortion restrictions. Whatever your view on the issue, I think we can all agree that is fact.

quote:

Send parents to jail if they raise a lunatic that kills 19 children.

There needs to be more consequences in cases of obvious negligence, but I'm not sure about a blanket rule.

quote:

Jail men that abandon their babies and don’t pay child support.

So men that find out the kid isn't theirs and just want to quietly separate from the situation will go to prison because of this, and it happens way more than we think.

quote:

Jail drug addict parents who dump their own kids in favor of their addiction.

quote:

bring back mental institutions and put people in them when they show dangerous or threatening behavior.

quote:

bring back juvenile detention centers

quote:

Do away with incentives to be a single mother and pop out as many kids as you can.

Totally on board with these

Too often we find that people who do this were boys who did not have a toxic male in their lives.

Yup.

When your bathtub overflows, you have to first turn off the faucet.

It took a few generations to get us here. Gonna take a few to get us out. But we have to turn off the faucet. BC these absent fathers create more absent fathers, and worse.

That's not always true. I had a co-worker named Judy. She was about 50 y.o. when her 18 y.o. son was convicted of murder (during a robbery) and sentenced to life.
When she came back to work I offered a hug. She said 'Zach, my husband and I have 3 other kids. They are all good kids and have good jobs and never caused an ounce of trouble. This son was bad from day one. He should never be paroled.'

There are some things about the human brain that we don't understand.

When did I suggest this? But you sell good men short. Hell I know a guy who found himself in this situation. He divorced the mother and still raised the kid.

Not the same as a mass murderer who had a
Drug addicted alley cat for a parent.

I don’t think there should be strict liability for parents. Give people grace for sure. But your friend was an attentive parent. Absent terrible parents - not so much. This kids parents need to face a consequence

but it boils down to the economy. We lost our way when women had to take to the workforce and we lost the nuclear family.

That isn't to say that women should just mind their place at home or anything, but that shite went haywire when women had to take to the workforce to make ends meet.
Agreed. When my mother and all of her Ladies Bridge Rosary group friends were done raising their kids. They went to work. While the woman can feel smaller by not working in a career with accolades, their own money & respect...

How about moms work PT at home and dads make enough money to support the whole family again?

The trade off is my mom was in the school parking lot every day waiting for us to get out of school. She had snacks for us.

When we were in school (it was a private, Catholic, uniformed skirt & jumper wearing school, I was lucky) If we got sick there was a mother in the school clinic dressed like a lady candy striper. My moms best friends would comfort me when I didn't feel good. And they knew exactly everything. If you were faking, what you needed.

Anyway, there was something to the 4 layered cake walk cakes moms made for the Parish Mardi Gras carnival. The goodness of June Cleaver moms.

If we returned to this lifestyle somewhat....And got govt of any kind out of public schools. I think it would be great.

Glorifying mental illness of children being tranny's at age 5 would go away. The extremely small percentage of kids that are born with both sexual organs would remain private. No one would push their child to be mentally ill in their sexuality just because it is trendy in Hollywood.

Return phonics, no new math garbage, and cursive handwriting to schools. Biology is scientific and not social agendas of mental illness. Apply the basic curriculums to computers. Allow prayer in school and pledging to the flag.

Maybe if the Churches from Methodist to Catholic-and a non religious private school choice ran the schools, society would improve.

Yeah, this kids' parents were bad. But I've known a lot of parents who had multiple kids raised the same way and one of them turned out totally rotten. Not murderers, but criminal activity while the siblings were great.
