If tweet fails to load, click here. This place is the US' leading producer of electrical transformers. Kinda strange that this happens right on the heels of Trump declaring a national emergency to shore up weaknesses in our electrical grid.

Jamie Howard’s family. They also do medical equipment.

I've been in the electrical business for 40+ years and I've never heard of this company. Now I operate about 95% in the industrial market and for transformers we deal mostly with ABB, Eaton/Cooper, Siemens, Prolec, and a couple of others. The largest I've ever dealt with was a 20MVA unit for a mill.

So, is China or Iran attacking our grid or what?

What does that have to do with anything? Have you ever heard of BoarEd? He’s perusing Twitter and 8Chan. I’m sure we can lean into his expertise.

Have you read the "One Second After* book series?
I can't remember the source, I saw or read something about how it would take multiple decades to bring the US grid back to current conditions with even a minor EMP. The point of the source was that we could easily fortify our transformers and the grid from an EMP attack with a little effort.

Do you know the difference between large power transformers and distribution transformers?

Haven't heard of it. I'll have to check it out.

This is stupid in the context it was presented and you should feel dumb. You won’t and you will lash out.
Posted on 8/31/26 at 8:12 pm to Barneyrb
I went to their website and they seem to provide a lot of the smaller stuff on the tail end of distribution. Didn't see any of the larger factory front end like you mentioned.

This is your third post in this thread begging for attention.

I’m not begging for anything. I know people who work at that company and you’re making yourself look stupid, let alone thinking they supply large power transformers for the electrical grid. This thread can be deleted now.
