I truly wish the answer was more and more freedom - so long as it's not affecting anyone else. Laws are only because we have lawbreakers. Reality shows the second and third order effects and the law of unintended consequences are unhealthy for our current society at scale.
I can be personally pro freedom (I am) and also recognize that some people (streets and street corners are full of them) are not equipped for it.
Our systems and the collective will to stand up for them are broken.
