Back when I was on unemployment for a week or two last year, you had to fill out a weekly online form. It asked more questions than I was expecting. Things like name three jobs you applied for, the day the time, who you talked to, the outcome, and how you applied. Took at least 20-30 min each week to complete

It’s $400 a week. It was never $800 to begin with

In AZ the range is $187 - $240 a week for state benefits.

If you added the $600 (another poster stated) + $187 = $787 / 40 hrs = $19.67 per hour. $13 - $15 per hour employees weren't coming back to work, especially outdoor jobs in the 115+ AZ heat during the summer months even if the businesses offered to pay them cash under the table.

If $400 max Fed weekly + $200 AZ weekly, which puts them in the $15 an hour range, many will still opt for unemployment over work in the heat.

This can easily put many small businesses owners in a financial bind because they cannot provide the manpower needed to complete a job in a timely fashion and move on to the next one.
