I have a former BIL that's state police. I asked him the best way to respond when being pulled over.
He said to remain in car with door closed and window down, hands on steering wheel. When officer asks for DL, tell him it's in your wallet and wait for him to tell you to reach in pocket to retrieve wallet. If you have a concealed carry permit, hand him that along with your license. Tell him if you have a weapon on your person or in the vehicle and the location of the weapon. At that point wait for his instructions on how to proceed. He said do not reach in glove box, under seat, or under dash until you have instructions from him to do so.
