People vote for entertainers, not intellectuals. If that wasn't the case, Rand Paul would be in the white house.

You're underestimating the number of suburban voters, particularly women, who vote Republican or are open to voting Republican.

It’s not a question of if they’re willing to vote Republican, it’s a question of which candidates they’re willing to vote for. As you illustrated with Trump, suburban females are fickle creatures. But we aren’t talking about Trump, we’re talking about whether or not a DeSantis/Haley ticket will get the female suburban vote.

My position is that DeSantis is a safe bet. He’s a family man, a veteran, he wears sweaters, the ladies at the bridge club feel safe voting for him.

Nikki, on the other hand, will fall prey to what all women do, the judgement of other women. There will be concerted media efforts and magazines in every grocery store checkout lane to highlight this drama.

Even so, maybe the margins are there just by getting Trump off the ticket. If I’m in Ron’s camp, I’m looking for more help in the Midwest than the south where you’re already a widely known commodity.

So, I did not watch the debate on purpose because I did not want to bias my reading of what pundits are saying.

This cannot be real.

Very much so. Try it some time, it is a great thought experiment to see the difference in your perception and what is being said by the media. Do not watch the debate, then watch the spin after, then go back and watch the debate. It is very easy to see the narratives that were built before the debates doing that. Try it on the next debate. Do not watch the debate, then watch the media response to the debate. It is pretty interesting. Easy to see how the media manipulates the public when you realize how much they do not care about things like, tone of voice, context of question or conversation, body language of the candidate, etc.

I have been interested in that since the Howard Dean situation and how the media manipulated that situation to get what they wanted.
