Officials say turnout could be as low as 10 percent for today’s U.S. Senate primary in Alabama. There are roughly 3.3 million registered voters in the state. If turnout is that low - about 333,080 voters - that's equal to the number of votes cast in only 2 counties (Jefferson and Talladega) in the 2016 presidential election. Polls close at 7.

100 percent of voters are picking the next Senator.

90% are simply outsourcing their votes to the 10% that are diligent enough to fulfill their civic responsibilities.

While disappointing numbers, its the primary, not the general.

In Alabama, the primary is the general.

That's because we vote in the middle of the day on a Tuesday in this retarded country. We should vote Saturdays and Sundays.

Nobody is stopping people from voting.

Those too apathetic to vote shouldn't count anyway.

Give me a halfway decent candidate and I might vote.

This logic doesn't make any sense, because not voting doesn't accomplish anything. One of those people you consider awful will win.

You should always vote for whoever you think is best, even if you think that person sucks. Pick the person who sucks the least.

10-15% is absolutely the normal for special elections. People just don't give a shite unless it's midterms or a presidential race.

It's a special election and a primary, that means really, really, really low turnout.

Both Strange and Moore suck arse equally and we'd be better off if they both dropped dead tonight. I'm also no fan of that other guy. I'm not going to fall into the trap of the lesser of 3 evils.

I may vote in the general just to vote against the Republican.
