Where in Baton Rouge is the best places to eat as far as a
Good steak house? Mexican? Italian? Cajun?

Want somewhere very nice to take my wife. I'm from Lafayette so any help would be appreciated!

Not to sound like a dick but I don't care how expensive the place is just want good quality food.

Scratch the Mexican places.

For a date, I would take her to either Ruffinos, Gino's, or French Market Bistro. French Market Bistro I just went to recently and I was very impressed and is a great spot to take your wife/gf for a nice meal.

I would look hard at Latil's Landing or Carriage House both at Houmas House Plantation.

If you want to really wow her with food and ambience, go to Latil's at Houmas House. Check out the website. It's very popular with the BR folks for special occasion meals.

Maison Lacour

French and awesome. Quaint, romantic, delicious and cozy. Perfect spot for an anniversary dinner.

My parents love Maison Lacour. I love the house dressing for a marinade or salad.

If not Latil's, I'd say Ruth's, Gino's, Maison Lacour or another quaint small neat place for Italian is Nino's. Pastas are made in house.

Pretty strong list of recommendations from Jones for a date.

I would definitely add Pinetta's to the list of Italian places that would make for a good date.
