Carole King is a great song writer. One of my favorite concerts was seeing her and James Taylor on their "Troubadour Tour" at the Verizon Center in D.C. in 2009 (I think that was the year).

One of my favorites, that she co-wrote with her former husband Gerry Goffin, is this one made popular by "The Drifters" and was performed by her and James Taylor:

"Up On The Roof"

I knew that

Feel free to bump

FWIW Gerry Goffin is as talented a lyricist as Carole is a composer

Yes. I seem to remember telling you that you SUCKED for being able to see them, and they did not come within 500 miles of Baton Rouge.

A CD with many of her demo versions came out some years ago. I tried unsuccessfully to get rights to release some of this on vinyl.

Her "Another Pleasant Valley Sunday" Demo is staggering.

It's available for all to hear on youtube

demo versions

"Crying In The Rain"

Later a hit for The Everly Bros -- the lyrics are actually by Howard Greenfield, who usually worked with Neil Sedaka. This is the only song CK and HG ever wrote together.

Wow. I truly thank you for pointing me to that.

Incredible.

wm72--Don't know if you saw this on the Soccer Board, but my Dad & his wife recently went to Italy. I wanted an authentic jersey, either Totti or Cavani (I didn't know he had transferred to PSG). Can you imagine what happened when they walked into the Napoli shop and asked for a #10 Roma jersey?

On the bright side that they likely don't understand Neapolitan dialect probably heled a bit.
