Help me out Rattlehead. First attempt at a gif. How do I clean up the transition on the text appearing and disappearing?
ok i "merge down" the text layers but didnt do too much.

GIMP 2.6 I have GIMP GAP installed as well. I watched a few tutorials but I havent been able to achieve my desired effect.

I'm a Ps guy. I have never seen ImageReady do anything like that. Try putting the issue up on the 'Teach a man to Fish' thread and see if someone can dial you in. I have used GIMP a bit, but not really the GAP stuff.
