The toughest tiger post seems to have settled on Cantrelle and Andolsek as the most baddest arse Tigers of all time. I was wondering if anyone could share any war stories they have about these two, or links to any videos of their hits. Embellishment welcome, but from what I gather it's not necessary.

I have heard that Art use to go to bars filled w/ roughnecks and would pick fights w/ them. I am told every now and again he would get beat, but most of the time he would destroy the other guy.

A lot of Cantrelle's "mean" happened in bars and was swept under the rug. He made RP look like a saint.

Here's a little Eric Andolsek/Chase Clement segment from the App State game broadcast.

Cantrelle never had a drink in his life, either. Amazing.

Really? He would go to bars sober and pick fights or are you being sarcastic?

Earl McRae of the Ottawa Sun has a story today on Cantrelle that's one of the craziest of all times when he was in the CFL. Go to ottawasun.com to read it. As for never having a drink in his life, I don't think so.

The video in that post doesnt work any more, but I remember watching it. Showed some great clips of Eric pancaking The Fridge. Theres not a doubt in my mind that if he hadnt died in that tragic accident and had gone on to have a full NFL career he would be in the HOF.

I heard some Eric Hill stories, and if there is any truth to them he needs to be included in this mix.

A player probably only the Old Timers like me will remember is Billy Mistric. Dude used to eat glass and razor blades.
An old buddy of mine went to Glen Oaks with him and played lb next to him. Said he was the craziest guy he ever knew.

On a positive note about Cantrelle, he was one of the few players to make the All State team in two different states: in Louisiana as a junior and in the Big Eight when he moved to Mississippi.

Dude I had an epic thread on just this about a year ago I believe. The final judgement was Art was the most "badass" - thug version, but Big E was the badest man on the field.

I have plenty of Andolsek stories from him (& Jimmy Goodrum) being jumped ouside the Colonel's retreat with their wives in tow to him beating the shite out of Bull and Octavio Gonzales in the Iron Horse.

BTW, there is a nice story of him taking Eric Hill down a few notches....late hit on Mickey G and Eric nailed Hill and held him down with a thumb pressed to his eye threatening to blind him (unlike Spikes it was controled and he held back). Only one man would Eric Hill step to the side for: Andolsek.
