I shot a 65lb sow last year with #4 .410 at 20 ish yards and it dropped in its tracks. Don’t forget about the .410. Ha

Sherburne especially with rabbit and squirell doggers out there now. If you can't find hogs at sherburne give up hunting. some days they will greet you at the truck.

Haven’t been there in at least 20 years. How deep do you think we’d have to go in?
Go as far as you can drive on big alabama road. then walk down road to pipeline or right go into the wind... better have one person about 50-75 yards in woods and one on pipeline. thank me later.

or go anywhere on rivier side of main road be advised 975 is closed near bayou manual - to go to north side need to come from 190.

last sat woodcock hunting in 2 hours we probably bumped a dozen hogs.

What general areas in the Pearl River WMA?

If you have waders, find a shallow slough that's about knee deep and walk it slowly. You can move pretty much silently doing that, so if you play the wind right then you can sneak up on pigs before they ever know you're there.

It should. Was asking if that’s what was in the 410 shot shell. I’ve read where predator hunters used it on yotes out to 75 yards.

Na, I cannot afford those lol.
Took my .410 pump on its final squirrel hunt before gifting it to my brother. Hog ran up beside me and stopped. I decided to take a “why not” shot and dropped it in its tracks. However, I soon found out that it stopped because it was about to eat a copper head. It was first shooting light and took me a minute to see the copper head .

Can you use any shot size during the small game season, but when hunting for hogs? For some reason I thought you could only use size 6 or smaller but I could have made that up in my head.

Last time I was there it was woodcock hunting. Most ticks I've had on a dog in louisiana.
