Will be heading to Big Lake first time early November. Need recommendations where to fish?

Thx in advance. We usually go to leeville every November for reds, but that is finished for now. We are staying at a camp near the hackberry gun place, no clue where to fish or even how to fish that area.
Can we ride wide open, are there stumps/reefs to worry about? Map shows some good looking marsh areas.

Just follow the guides and fish by them.
It's been 10+ years since I've fished there so my info probably isn't good. There used to be some weirs on the southeast side that we'd hammer the reds by. West cove also used to be good.

Trout won’t be in the marshes, flounder will be. Head north for trout. They eat better on a falling tide and look for birds. Should only need artificial baits. Norton Sand Eels and DSL baits are your best bet.

Literally any soft plastic in glow/chartreuse tail or opening night. Sand eel Jr is a great plastic. Look for birds. That will get your trout. White 4" gulp shrimp at the weirs for reds. Water should be flowing out into the lake. U will know u found the right weir if u have to wait your turn. Bring lots of jig heads for the weirs. U will get hung up a lot.. Easy Pickens that time of the year.

Do a little internet search on Sabine National Refuge to learn about the boundaries. The refuge property is closed for fishing from Oct. 15 to March 15.
If there is a good north wind, some areas get fairly shallow.

Laura did bad things to the Refuge. May take awhile to come back to form.
