Back in 2010 we had an early snowstorm and the renter did not have the corn all out yet. Fortunately he left the home place for last and then he was unable to get to the endrows. As a result we attracted a herd of about 75 deer that decided to yard up in our grove for the winter. Here are some pictures that I took at that time.
The first image shows 61 of the deer foraging in the distance on the fields.
This shows some of the herd gleaning some of the snowed in end rows of corn.
We have always feed the wildlife about 40 feet behind the house. These next pictures are taken out of the living room side window. This picture shows 14 or 15 deer in this side of the grove.
When they saw us watching them they just watched us in return.
BOSS BUCK Notice the ruffed up hair on the two 5x5s in the background and on the little fellow in the foreground that has dropped his headgear.
Some times there is a little humor in watching them. Here a video of a when deer try's lunching on a squirrel's tail and ends up getting his nose scratched. STOP THAT!

That groundhog pic of him just chilling is great. You can get close to them or was that zoomed in a good amount?
This one was sticking its head out of a little culvert. We got pretty close to it, and it stayed there long enough for me to snap a pic.

I don't know if this qualifies as wildlife,
Definitely does. That is really awesome. Nature is crazy.

Is that Devil's Tower peaking up just over the hill?

I’d say that’s “pretty” wild.

Peacock mantis shrimp, Puerto Galera, Philippines
Mating Nembrotha lineolata, Puerto Galera, Philippines
Poison ocellate octopus. Spent two weeks looking for a blue ring. Found this little guy on a night dive. A little larger than a ping pong ball. Had no idea it was as venomous as the blue ring.

Awesome shots. Were those taken at various locations?

I caught a ship from Ushuaia, Argentina (southern tip) to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island, and then Antarctica. We were a small ship so we could do Zodiac landings. Larger ships have too many passengers to do that, but are cheaper. Some ships skip the Falklands and South Georgia to keep the cost down, but South Georgia may be more interesting than Antarctica and has a lot more wildlife. There are a number of companies that offer cruises to Antarctica. It was pretty facking awesome, to be honest.

Magellanic Woodpecker, in Tierra del Fuego National Park, Argentina. Seeing one was a high priority for the trip, very cool bird.

My girlfriend and I were watching a documentary the other day about people that live and work on Antarctica and we researched the most reasonable ways to get there. Bucket lister for sure.

Always kinda liked this one. Not spectacular but is a twofer. Got an eagle and a bear fishing near a glacier.
