Why is Jacob in another boat next to Liz and Troy??

Searched board, didn't see it mentioned.
2 boats 3 people. Seems like 1 boat 2 people works well.
Is he helping the camera crew, or running lines so that they can get more gators?

I haven't seen em put any in his boat, nor did I see footage of any in his boat. They just show him in the boat.

Whether they have showed it or not they did once say its the ice boat for keeping gators from spoiling.
