Why is Bass Pro Shops’ shipping so terrible?

I’ve ordered from them 3 separate times and each time the order has been split across multiple packages which arrived on multiple days. And there were backorders which weren’t listed on their website 2 of the times.
I want to give them my online business instead of Amazon, but they make it tough.

I order 6 matching fishing poles, came from 3 different locations. Pretty sure they came from different stores since some of them had the retail stickers that the stores put on them.
