I have some crepe myrtles in the yard and on a few of them the leaves are turning purple. Is it too much water, too little water, a fungus?

Other trees’ leaves are very green but some of them look like this.

It’s definitely not because the lush green grass below them is taking up all the nutrients in the soil!

Did they just appear in your yard? Theyve done this every year bud.

I just planted them this spring. So I don’t know what their growth habits are yet.

And the area I planted them had an old barn last year before tearing it down so the grass is just now starting to grow .

This.. check the ph balance, may be too acidic... could also be too much iron in the soil... might not be absorbing the right amount of phosphorus

This plus pH would be my guess. I once had a neighbor whose corn turned purple for a brief while due to a phosphorus deficiency.
