Damn steel shot. It would have been pot roasted with turnips and mushroom gravy if the ole boy had used lead.

I think it would be worth it to get one stuffed, but just leaving it seems sinceless.

I don’t understand why so many people shoot them. Seems like I hear about them getting shot at least twice a year.

I don’t understand the big appeal of them. Seriously. I know that won’t be popular but it’s my honest thoughts. Someone enlighten me.

You’re entitled to your opinion. Most people believe they should be restored since they are native and were once part of the ecosystem. Aparently you’re not alone or they talk a lot of shite to coonasses cause we can’t go six months without someone shooting one.

Its freaking ridiculous. Don't fricking shoot an endangered bird for no reason for christ sake. Take the extra minute to identify it between a regular crane before you strike the primer.

Appreciate some feedback. I am just honestly wondering what the allure to them is.

Would like to hear from those downvoting. Have you nothing to share?

To me it’s like if there were no more mockingbirds, june bugs, copperheads, any of many animals that don’t add anything to the ecosystem, per se.

What makes you think that those animals add nothing to the ecosystem?

Native species fill a specific role. June bugs might be annoying but they feed a lot of other species including bull frogs. I get the vibe that you believe an animal is worthless if it doesnt directly benefit you.

Nah, I never said to kill whooping crane’s, only that I don’t get the allure. Some of these gents are reading into my statements.

How about stop with the child talk and tell me what it is about whooping cranes that appeals to you. Can you even identify one in the wild?
