re: Where/how does anyone sell a firearm these days?
I've sold a couple guns to a friend who specifically wanted those. I do sorta regret selling them, but had replacements.

If I were to randomly "sell my guns", it'd be on Gunbroker, I think. I don't know how much it costs to sell on Gunbroker, and the hassle (however much or little) involved in doing it.
But you have to understand this- you would be presenting them to the entire country, and 'market value' might be whatever someone in Ohio or Michigan would pay. Not what guys 100 miles away would. There may be some guy in Utah who desperately wants your rifle, and will pay more than someone else.

Tikka T3 .243; never fired by me, bought new; Leopold scope; case; box of ammo; so I have $1,200 in it;

Sounds like a hell of a setup. Bet you could nonlethally wound a nice deer out to about 250 yards with that.

Facebook. There are many pages and ways to facilitate this.

Bought it with the intention of it becoming my varmint rifle, but then I did something I told myself I would never do after I got out of the military -- bought a freakin' AR.

Green dot scope and 3x multiplier later, THAT's my varmint rifle.

Example? I have had FB flag flashlights as some sort of weapon.

You can wound them with a 7 mag too if you are a bad shot....

Brother, unless you hit a deer in the leg with a 7 mag, that motherfricker is going to die.

? You think a bad shot with a 7 mag is somehow magically better?

re: Where/how does anyone sell a firearm these days?
I don’t think it’s “magically better”, but I promise a gut shot deer with a .243 will be very difficult to recover. A gut shot deer with a 7 mag will leave a solid blood trail and you will find the deer.

Man I’ve experience this first hand. Hunted with .243, .270, and 7mm Mauser for a number of years. Having trouble finding deer that weren’t hit well happened pretty often. Switched to a .444 (obviously not a 7 mag, but a much larger bullet), and between my father and I, we have yet to not recover a deer that was hit.
I’m not saying it’s not possible, I’m just saying that a much larger caliber definitely gives you a lot more wiggle room than a .243.
