I was told it had something to do with a certain parasite or insect sweet potatoes can carry, and they didn't want it being spread via hunters transporting them to different areas. Could be totally wrong.

This is the correct answer. It actually back fired on them too because no one really used sweet potatoes as bait. However, when they passed that law, everyone was like "man those sweet taters must be really good bait if they outlawed it!!" From what I've heard, ducks really do love them though. Never baited ducks myself, so I'm not sure.

Bag of rock salt or some fresh molasses from the sugar house down the road.

Nate's Buck Bait works well from what I hear. My brother uses it a lot and loves it. Nate was married to my cousin and passed away before his product was put out to the public. She and other family members have done a great job of getting it out there the last 2 seasons. She also posts on here from time to time.

Their website lists the places although there may be more locations by now. I can check and find out.

Ever calm or coon piss on the bottom of my boots. Hyper heat or TT’s during the rut. Corn for quick throws to set up a camera in a new area or small feeders. Deer 365 in barrel/table feeders, best stuff I’ve used at a reasonable price and only deer eat it.

Your best bet is to put me in a blind or stand on the property next to you. I have a force field around myself that repels deer away from me in a half mile circle. By placing me strategically next to your property I can funnel the deer right to your location. I can sell my services for a reasonable fee.

Straight ole corn had been drawing the deer just fine on my property in MS. Think I must be the only one feeding in the area by the number of animals I am seeing at my feeders

I’m dropping corn like a nervous indian and have seen an incremental increase in deer. The guys who are using corn and some attractant also are fairing better. I did have an influx of hogs when i spread some wild berry golden nuggets out.

Just started using Bragg'n Bucks Super Protein Blend. (Peas and Roasted Soybeans.) The deer seem to prefer this over corn and rice bran. They'll eat it all gone before moving on to the corn or rice bran.
