Okay, that's more understandable, I thought you were talking like medium-heavy/heavy gear. I use medium / medium-heavy baitcasters and medium spinning rods. I use that for trout and reds.
But I also have heavy, and extra-heavy spinning and trolling gear for monsters bulls reds, jacks, and sharks when I feel like big fights lol.

I haven't really gone after the big bulls, but I had a trip scheduled to La a couple of years ago (Hurricane Michael killed it) and the guide assured me he catches bulls on 2000 size spinning reels. I'm a bit skeptical but I have no doubt he knows more about catching the big ones than I do. I'm going to try to do the trip next fall.
