I just used it for the first time. It's a 2010 Challenger SRT8 in B5 blue. Paint wasn't bad to begin with, I just wanted to refine it. I washed with meguiars gold class, clay barred, dried, used the PC + orange pad and poor boys polish with sealant, then topped that wit a coat of Four Stars UPP. My problem is I don't have a garage where I can apply these sealants and let them cure for hours on end, so I have to used products that can be applied in sunlight (though I keep this to a minimum always) and can be topped almost immediately. I know I sacrifice some durability, but it is what it is. The car is my dads anyway and will probably be getting sold soon...next project is my truck. Which will be a bitch

Yes, I've had them on 3 different vehicles. Worth their weight in gold IMO. Definitely get one.
ETA: Get one with a nipple, you can attach a rubber/Polyurethane/etc hose to it and drain directly into an oil disposal bucket/can. I have a big 12qt jug with a twist off top I use...got it at walmart. Makes oil changes soooo much nicer.

I make the biggest mess when I pull my filter off. Still no fix for that

Same here...doesn't matter how many layers of bags I use. Always a mess all over me and the power steering rack every time.

I remember doing a 2500 Ram a long time ago and the paint was fairly hard. You probably need a stronger cutting compound.
Go to Autozone and get Mequair's M105. It's in a tan bottle and is about $30. It's worth the money. I use it to polish headlights and bare metal bumpers as well. Works like a charm.

Sealants and waxes shouldn't need that long to cure. Just do a finger test. Swipe your finger across the waxed paint quickly. If the wax smears, it needs more time. If it all flakes off, it's ready to be removed.

I just got a new truck and it comes with 2 years free S.M....but they put dexos 1 synthetic blend in there, not sure what kind of filter.
In my old '03 silverado I'd get 6 quarts of Pennzoil and a fram tough guard oil filter. Never had a single problem with it in 7.5 years. It feels weird now having somebody else do an oil change for me.

Hummer H2 86k miles
Royal Purple
Change every 8k miles.
At 4k, I bring it in and get a new oil filter and the oil gets topped off.
Front/Rear diff. and transfer case gets Royal purple as well.

eta: I'm about to go flush my coolant today because the last shop put the wrong stuff in there
Gotta spend the whole damn day doing it. Just because they used the wrong stuff, I have to pour in two separate gallons of cleaners, 30 gallons of distilled water, new t-stats, and 4.5 gallons of coolant
Gonna run some auto-rx through it also

This has nothing to do with erl but I cleaned my throttle body this weekend and now the truck idles like a dream.

Small things like this do wonders on your engine. I jut did this as well as new fuel injectors and spark plugs. The 6.2L had a bit more pep in it.

I don't trust a lot of people to work on my car either, ESPECIALLY body shops when it comes to paint correction.
PSA: If you ever bring your vehicle to have body work done, tell them to NOT TOUCH the paint. They will happily add swirls in your paint free of charge.

I use a similair valve on my riding mower that allows me to attach a drain hose so it doesnt make a mess on the frame

Yep, damn thing didn't even seem dirty but it made a world of difference. I'd recommend it to anyone who's had their truck for a few years, its easy and cheap and I was told intake build-up is a common issue with not-so-young GM trucks.

Speaking of oil changes, my Silverado tells me when to do it. I've gotten into a bad habit of ignoring the milage and waiting on the warning.
Looking back over my history at the oil change place, this warning is now coming up in shorter periods. First two changes were like 7,000 miles. Last two were 3,000. Can the oil change place mess with the settings or is my truck actually needing quicker changes?

They are pretty decent. Wix makes filters for NAPA and a couple other brands too. NAPA numbers are the same as wix, just minus the first digit which is usually a 5.

Downshift may know more, but I know for me the mileage ratings have been pretty consistent between changes. I change my oil about once a year.
