That's what we call a cottonmouth in my neck of the woods.

You ever tried to take a picture of a damn pissed off water snake when you've been standing next to it for 5 minutes and didn't know it?

It didn't stink and didn't open it's white mouth so clearly it was a water snake but it still freaked me out. I took that pic as I was climbing a willow tree.

There's many more places you could drink beer and now sweat your arse off and/or get eaten alive by skeeters.

We were looking for coon tracks. Found plenty coon tracks, just had to beat the cottonmouths out the way to see em.

frickers were everywhere.

It seemed like a good chance to show the snake experts that cottonmouths do exist in vast numbers in some places. We couldn't walk 10 feet from the boat without seeing one.

It was weird too. None of them stunk and none of them ever opened their mouth, so clearly they were water snakes and my irrational fear led me to believe they were the highly vicious and deadly water moccasin.

I said it was a cottonmouth, but then I remebered that according to the OB, all cottonmouths are water snakes and cottonmouths really don't exist

Ive noticed that the north louisiana guys are the ones always saying this, they just dont know about that swamp life struggle

Notice how it seems to have no eyes.

That's because it has no soul.

I saw the fricker in that picture from about 50 yards away, hence the only picture of a live one I got.
