I thought you were saying that was in a high fence place.

Our ranch is high fenced, but contrary to the belief on this board, our deer are not tame and will not eat apples out of my hand :(

Only one way to get a final definitive ruling on MillerMan's ranch. I will personally go with him on a hunt this year and report back to y'all.

My sacrifices need not be applauded.

That was ignorant to categorize like that, I know that isn't the case in almost every one. Those are some healthy looking deer, y'all must be doing a lot right.

My disdane for high fence has little to do with how you manage the herd inside.

We have been recently bordered by high fence and that side of our lease which would regularly get large bucks crusing through the creekbottoms to eat the acrons is now basically devoid of deer.

That was South Texas 10 years ago. Everyone started throwing up high fences, so you kinda had to. Our place was totally different low fenced...rattling along the fence lines was my favorite thing to do. Then deer management became a big business and now everyone down there has a high fence.

To each his own..... We have them on our lease. rarely is a large buck taken. Most of the stands we have over feeders are doubles for taking children etc. I will sit them for a doe or the thought of several pigs coming in but prefer the lock on's in the woods.

Them bastards are hard to kill. Somebody bring one out on a leash and I'd club it with a hammer. I don't care how anybody kills deer, as long as its legal. High fence, low fence, no fence, feeders no feeders it don't matter. Isn't sitting in a trail ambushing not hunting? By hunting a corn field or scrap you are hunting some sort of bait.

Then what is the point of a high fence? If I am going to spend that money on a fence, I want to have to have to push big deer out of the way.

To manage the heard the way you want and not have to worry about shitty neighbors.

While we aren't quite there yet, we have done pretty well so far IMO
