It's all based off the moon. Saltwater fishing I look at tide charts. Freshwater I look for the minor and major feeding periods

I kinda do this, but I just go whenever I get a chance anyway. I should probably pay more attention to it.

Yeah, when you are married with 2 kids and work full time, you gotta go when you can. I am just trying to learn a bit more about everything. Plus if the tide is slack, it's one more thing I can blame when I don't catch fish.

When I saw tide, I assumed salt. I've never been to salt without an invite. Kinda looking forward to going down in my own boat though. No more: "Hey look-we can make it to those rigs today"

I don't fish salt enough I'm going to try to more this summer. I might even go over to the dark side and get a yak

In july, I spent 3 days fishing at Grand isle. Pretty sure the 3 hours in the yak beat the combined rest of the time spec fishing as far as pure enjoyment is concerned. I just love the small water red fishing. I only like the open water spec stuff. I'd rather eat the specs though.

How many can we fish do you think? let's get up a crew and go later this Spring. One of us has to have spots though.

I like catching specks, but definitely rather catch reds. I'm starting to seriously look into yaks. Kinda scary
But I also want to buy a frogging/duck/swamp boat, so there's that.

I have rules though:

1. Boat cannot ever be more than 1000 yards from a piece of land,

2. No one can open or drink from a beer until they have landed an edible species(stories of certain races eating hardheads does not count),

3. Reserved

4. Reserved

5. Reserved
