Ive said it once and edited my post. Diff strokes for diff folks! Do what u pleAse

I would be willing to wager that since 1985 or so i have killed or witnessed alot of turkeys die in la, ms and alabama

I now kill one max 2 then put my gun up for the yr.

alot of parishes would not have a huntable population if my grandpaw and his brother didnt let the state trap them with nets on their land and relocate them though, i witnessed those net cannons in the 80's.

Matter a fact that really screwed up our population on those lands for about 10 yrs mid 90's to 2005 or so

Correct fel tiger fan, im trying to say that by u, plant milo, corn, whatever and it will be way more beneficial long term than is spreading a sack or 2 of corn before the season. That is if u are really wanting to benefit and hold more turkeys

Contrary to what many are telling you in here it's been my observation if you keep them on your place until they break up into mating groups you WILL have more birds on your property come turkey season.

Exactly. You don't leave fish to find fish.

you can plant forage and provide habitat which will be more beneficial long term than scattering a sack of corn or birdseed and planning short term.

Is there anything wrong with doing both? I care more about turkeys than any other animal on my property and leased land. I think feeding them has nothing to do with skill of turkey hunting or how good of a hunter you are or how long you have hunted. So long as you aren't piling it up in the same spot where they can get blackhead and spreading it out I am unaware of a bad consequence of this practice.

So you're willing to bet that in 30 years you've seen a lot of turkeys killed? Brave move.

I don't feel like going into detail but I feel that I have a better knowledge of my property that I grew up on a little better than you. Them bitches will leave quickly. All of em...

Well, if what people brag, lie, and put on a solemn multi media outlet like Facebook really bothers you that much, then I guess that's just a cross that only you can bear.

It's not that, I don't like some old fart coming on my thread accusing me of baiting turkey when it's obvious that I wasn't doing that and just wanted to keep em centrally located.

Hunt how you want as long as it's legal. If you are going to put out bait to hold them check your local laws. Some places consider an area baited for up to 30 days after the bait is removed. In Arkansas it's 10 days.

Duck hunters

Oh shite, man i really do bait those, when we farmed sweet potatoes i would go get a truckload from the packing plant and cut them up
And put them in the lake!!! But see there is millions of ducks in the state, only about 100,000 turkey!!!

old fart

Watch the old fart stuff, he ain't been huntin' near as long as I have,, ,, but, he did automatically assume a "holier than thou " attitude and assume you were wanting to bait.
He said he was reading between the lines, but, never apologized for the accusation,, so, to heck with the old fart!
