Did they have many birds out? We fished out there last weekend and found trout, it just seemed we couldn't get our baits past the bluefish to get on a consistent pattern.

Fished Sat. night from dark to midnight. Caught two bass and noticed quite a few boats around the levee with lights about. Should of perched jerked.

My big catch from two days of fishing, LOL

It dosent help that I was confined to only about 60 ft of bank and water less than 8 ft deep on a large resivoir.

I did hit 11/18 inside a 3" circle at 30 yrds with my bow on Sat and 10/12 on Sunday. Then I got the chance to do a little target practice with the .40 and the 9 mm.

I get asked about kentuckies a lot and how to tell them from large mouth. They simply look different. Feel different too.

Kentuckies have a little rough spot on their "tongue"

Right, but I never have to get that far. I know them before they come out of the water.

I would have to describe the way spots fight as very energetic without a true escape effort. They tend to swim in tight fast circles orbiting the same general area where as a Largemouth is intent on getting the hell out of dodge and heading to deep water in most instances. IMHO.

When y'all go north Tim island, how do u choose your spot?

I can't ever seem to get it right

Also were y'all using cork or bottom?

I was using just a 1/4 jig head, no cork no carolina. The other tow guys in the boat were using a carolina....of course I wore them out they did too but my bite was more consistent plus I caught more reds too.

I didnt choose the spot....the guide did...but he's been taking people there for the past few days and weeks and not producing.....it comes down to the type of fisherman in the boat. There was a guide out of the same place with a boat full of people, fishing the same area and didn't catch a fish. It wasn't that they couldn't catch, it was because they literally "couldn't".
