Do any of you have experience with this scope that you care to share? I am looking to put it on a PSA 6.5 CM AR-10 that I will use for deer/varmint hunting in Alabama (primary) and also for some fun at the range (secondary). Any thoughts are appreciated.

No experience on the Strike Eagle, but wanted to share a sale on the Viper PST II 5-25x50. $800 isn't cheap, but it's a relatively good deal.

Just to rant, it's preference, but I like the MRAD reticle over BDC (with the Strike Eagle). BDC markings are usually only found on second-focal plane scopes, which means the reticle markings are only valid at maximum zoom level (check the manual; there are other ways manufactures can configure the scope). If your range play will be precision stuff past a hundred yards or so, you're going to want to stay away from BDC (at least, I would).

I have a 1-8 strike eagle and had two diamondback tactical ffps. I’m my opinion, for the strike eagle, over 5-6 zoom gets narrow and distorted. For the diamondback tacticals, anything over 10-12 power is the same. 24 zoom was a joke. I still like vortex, I just think if you want that much zoom to be clear, you have to pay for it.

Take a look at Swampfox's optics. They are pretty nice. Supposedly some big shot from Primary Arms' Optic division is heavily involved with Swampfox. They have what is essentially a lifetime warranty (up to 50K rounds) on all their products. And, the price is very reasonable.

It’s it just your opinion; it’s almost impossible to get a 6x magnification in that price range without noticeable consequences. I wouldn’t go beyond 3x, maybe 4x for that kind of money.
