Skipped the daybreak hunt here in TN opening day because we had tee ball but got out there around 11. This one bit the dust at 12:13. Funky chicken decoy with a hen, a few yelps and a jake gobble followed by purrs for about thirty minutes had this one and his buddy sprinting across the field. 1-1/4” spurs. 9-15/16” beard.

ETA: I forgot to weigh him

Bump for number two!

20 ga. TSS #9 on this one at further than anyone here would believe. This one weighed 21.5 lbs. Noticeably lighter than the last one. Hate I didn’t put him on a scale. 1” spurs. 9-15/16” beard.

Gonna try with the longbow next.

Got one in Tate County, MS this morning. 9-3/8 in beard, 1” spurs, didn’t weight it. I’ve got to learn how to post a pic.
We’ve killed 4 turkeys on that place this year, and every one was between 10:45-11:15. I was walking out to leave this morning and stopped to call, he gobbled and was probably 75-80 yards around a corner in the road I was walking on. Found a tree to sit on, purred a couple of times and he came within a couple of minutes

Got this guy Saturday in Bosque County, TX. Spent about two hours covering a ton of ground with the gobblers just not talking much before finding this guy about 100 yards from the truck. We were actually calling to a different bird that was slowly making his way towards us when this one fired off out of nowhere inside of 40 yards. Of course he was in the wrong spot, but he cooperated and after first appearing where I had no way to get a shot, he moseyed on over and I took him at 18 yards.

Just started turkey hunting this year and was fortunate to call in a bird Saturday morning in Winn Parish. He gobbled every time I made a call and came right into the decoys. Awesome experience! 8” beard 3/4” Spurs

Tagged out. 3 down in 4 hunts through 3 weekends and to finish it up with the longbow is something I’m pretty proud of. This was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced in the woods. Fletchings made from the first two birds I shot. And yeah it’s a Jake and idgaf. There were three of them at 7 yards. 6 turkey eyes with no blind was tough to get a draw.

This is my second year turkey hunting. Jimjackandjose and Tenfoe have really helped me out. Met them through this site. Taught me a lot. After 3 weeks, I closed the deal yesterday. Beautiful bird. 7/8” spurs, 9” beard (shot to hell unfortunately).
