what is the fuel surcharge usually like? I am hesitant to take a charter not knowing the total cost.

Can't believe know one has mentioned Kevin Beach. Hell even hunter caballero. I think Kevin has a sweet 39' yellowfin.

Any of the MGfishing crew. They're are so many good guides now that it's all just a matter of just picking one who's available and then having a good time.

Cajun Made charters out of Fourchon is top notch, Moran really knows what he's doing and so does Captain Miles.

34.5' venture with a huge fish box and gas tank. The boat rides excellent

I second all of this, although Chris seems to spend more time dealing with running the marina and hotel than running his boat. Great guy to fish with. Won't go wrong with Lance Walker either.

I had some good friends go out with Lance Walker last year. They caught a midsized tuna and several large amberjack and some other good fish. In fact, they wore themselves out catching fish. They had nothing but good things to say about the crew, their knowledge and skill.

A couple of the guys in the group were over 50 and they didn't much care for the music on the boat. They wanted more Bob Dylan. The oldest dude, ho I didn't really know, came down from Manhattan for the trip. He wanted more of a luxury vessel than the catamaran.

Here's what I took away from all that, knowing all the locals in this particular group of charter customers well. The guys at Fish Commander are young and know what they are doing. They likely don't have much Bob Dylan on their iPod. They will put you on fish.
