Morning folks. I’ve been thinking about taking my boys on a trout and red charter trip. When we lived in La we would hit Hopedale pretty often. Well the river appears to have that area struggling right now and I sold my boat a couple years back. Where and who would you recommend for myself and two bit(15/9) for a day trip. Grand Isle? Dularge? Leeville? I’ve called/emailed a couple captains but still haven’t decided where we should go. It’s been 10 years since I’ve been on a charter so any help is appreciated. My boys fish at least three times a week in a pond behind the house so they are somewhat experienced. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Check out Southern Exposure out of Buras.

Creighton runs a nice operation and always has options to catch fish on either side of the river. Excellent accommodations and their food is top notch.

Awesome. He is good people. If you have issues with him, I’ll be shocked.

I think he has fished every day but a couple in May and June

What a day in Dularge with Capt Travis Lovell. We made the 3 hour trek and it was worth every minute.
The weather and the fishing couldn’t t have been any better. Based off yalls recommendation I booked with him for a trout /red trip with my sons. We ended the day with 3 limits of specks and 23 white trout all on soft plastics. The kids were mind blown at the fishing experience. The captain was top notch and definitely enjoys what he does. We made some memories today that will last a lifetime. We are already talking about a fall trip. Can’t Wait.
