Trolling motor issues

Hey guys I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 36V variable speed riptide fortrex 101 hand control I bought used and the guy said it worked fine he just upgraded to an ipilot. The first time I took it out it worked intermittently. Disgusted and cursing the guy I did some troubleshooting and ended up bypassing the board and all things pointing to the board being bad, I ordered a new board and swapped them out. Tested it at home and it seemed to work fine, I get out on the Water the other day and the first time I put her in the water it starts doing the same thing. So I take the cussing back and decide maybe it did run like it was supposed to when I bought it. Haha. It is wired through a TH marine foot switch and I recently replaced the bow plug to the good battery tender plug and the TH Marine foot switch and they both worked fine for multiple trips with my old trolling motor. This is what I have done so far:
Verified proper voltage at the plug 37.4V verified proper voltage at the trolling motor when the foot switch is pushed in and out which was also 37.4. The batteries are only one year old and load test good. I have the heavy duty 60A breaker in-line and it tests good. What i plan on doing is taking the foot switch out of play, then the breaker, but if I strike out on both of those I’m not sure what to try. Also has anyone else used a foot switch with a variable speed motor? I’m wondering if it is causing problems with the board since it’s stopping and starting from the ramped up speed position rather than allowing it to ramp up on its own? Thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. By the way I’m already $450 in on this thing with the new board so I’m gonna DIY this thing or move on! Thanks fellas

Do you have the minn Kota breaker? The resettable one? Is it tripping it?

Yes the minn Kota with the yellow indicator. But no it’s not tripping it as far as I can tell. When it stops working I go check it and it’s never been in the tripped Position. I can however hear something clicking in the board, maybe a contactor or switch, not sure but every time I push the foot button down I hear it, but the motor does not work every time, even when I hear the click. I’m stumped

Do they auto reset?
no it's manual reset.

Yes. I use a bigfoot. no problems. You are losing voltage in your plug or through the foot switch, IMO. the foot switches can corrode--this is likely your problem.

Both the plug and foot control are brand new and have only been used on 2-3 times prior to installing the new to me trolling motor
