How's the haygrass look around Patroon? Is it up good enough to punch or am I going to have to go South to find good haygrass? I've got a two day tournament down there this weekend, and I'm not sure if I'll make it down there during the week with all of this bad weather they're predicting.

No sir Civiltiger07. I caught a couple of nice whitperch on that small grass bed on back to back casts so I marked it with a bottle type buoy and came back. Just working the hunch that their could be a bunch in there and we got lucky and it was

I haven't been in Patroon, but I know there's some hay grass out on the main lake on the Louisiana side opposite of Patroon. It's not matted up real good yet, though. We've been catching at least 15 pounds with best five for about a month now fishing Blue Lake flipping the bushes. One of my buddies finished 2nd in a tournament Sunday with a little over 20 pounds there, too.

You think you could still catch them flipping bushes if we get 6-10" of rain? I've done real good at Cow Bayou and in Tenaha flipping bushes in the past, just worried about all the new water.

I think that will make it better. They tend to move up shallower as the water rises. I hope it does like last year and stay up in the bushes through April or May i killed em flippin and on a frog last year!

We did that fishing a club tournament. We started catching slabs on 1/4 oz. red rattle traps in 6 mile. We weighed in and went back and caught a bunch.

FYI...I created a .kml file for the Toledo Bend boat lanes (I'm sure I'm missing a few) for viewing in Google Earth or similar programs. If anybody wants them, I'll email them to you. They should be pretty close, I used my Navionics app. and a paper map for reference.

I'd love to get that if you don't mind, I'm new to Toledo and don't want to find out the hard way where not to run...

Is the one from Tenn. Bay to roughly Boone's new? I always had to make that long run past Miller's etc.

Looks like when, not if...

I'm going next Monday for the first time this year, then the following weekend. We'll see what happens...

I've never run it, but I've seen it run. My paper map has it, so I included it.

These are just for reference. They should be close, but don't go running these things in the dark.

I find them helpful for planning a trip.

Oh, no. I'm running them wide open, and you're responsible.

Me too, but my wide open speed is equivalent to a 109lb. thrust trolling motor.
