The boys are excited to be going for the first time this month.

Staying on San Miguel.

Are there any can't miss food recomendations.

Is there any reason to think I can safely and reasonably go by water to launch at cypress bend for the south side of the mouth of San Miguel if we leave our boats on the dock lift overnight?

The way they've been spraying here i'm not sure I even know how to fish a lake with grass in it anymore..

Are you sure your dock lift has water under it. It’s pretty low right now

There isn't much grass on the La. side.

As far as food goes, Pirates Cove recently remodeled their small restaurant, and everything we have had their has been pretty good!

It's not fine dining, but the home made onion rings are pretty slamming!

It's an easy run to the back while on the water to grab lunch.

I was confused by that as well.

I hope to go next weekend. It has been 4 months since I was up there last.

Tournament blat off is at 7 AM

I imagine I could get to Cypress Bend by water (5 miles) faster than dealing with driving. But i'm not sure about all the boat lanes and stumps

It's an easy boat ride from San to Cypress.

First timers need to troll the boat lanes with deep diving cranks.

What kind of boat do you have?

It is about a 30 minute drive from North Toledo Bend State Park to Cypress Bend.

With kids I’d say to take them to Curtis’ and get a hamburger and some blue-bell ice cream.

Pretty far away. I'd stick with the Mexican at Toledo Town.

High School Tourney. I wouldn't run those kids in the dark from Miguel to Cypress. Not a first timer for sure
