Fiancée just gave me my Christmas present early...Super pumped up, any scope recommendations? TIA

Congratulations, CornDog on both the new gun AND a wonderful fiance!! Lots of brands mentioned already. It's hard to go wrong w/ any "non-junk" scopes now days. I'd look for a 3-9X scope. You should be able to get a high quality scope in the $400-600 range. Most of my scopes are Leupold, Burris or Vortex. I recommend Burris Signature Z rings (the ones w/ the plastic inserts) and a 1 piece Weaver base. Also suggest you consider a "ballistic drop" type reticle. I've recently developed a fondness for this type of reticle. Also consider checking out the factory refurbish/demo scopes at Natchez Shooter's Supply. I've been pleased w/ the refurbished scopes I've bought there.

Let us know how she shoots!

Guy here suggested checking them out as well thanks fellas. Anyone know an honest review website that doesn’t push only a certain brand. I know the best thing is to look at a few in person, but just seeing if there is a good site anyone frequents. TIA

The tikka is a very slim light rifle. Don’t put a telescope on top of it.
While I agree in principle, I’d opt for a 3-9x at a minimum or a ideally a 4-12x but wouldn’t go over 42mm objective.

50-56mm especially with 30mm tubes get top heavy, it’s all relative to how you hunt though.

I prefer the higher power for those longer range shots and also determining if that’s a doe or a spike out there at 200 yards.

This is where is stand. I dont care to lug around a pair of Binos, so i use my scope to identify whats on his head.

I always carry binoculars but if I see horns I grab my gun, often times there’s a very short window where I’m hunting to get a shot in.

If you don’t have very strict rules on what type
of bucks you can shoot where you hunt, it’s probably not as big of an issue. Again, it’s all personal preference.

Natchez shooters also buys a ton of closeouts or model not going to be sold anymore. Nothing wrong with them.

They will have some insane deals at times.

That's true. If you see something you want on the refurb, special deal or demo, you better act fast. I remember one time I was signed up w/ them for email notification if refurb Burris 3-12 handgun scope came into stock. Brand new the scope runs about $450, but was the refurb was $250 IIRC. When I got home from work, there was an email notification the product was now in stock. My wife wanted to go out to eat (she has the "hangry" gene) so I left w/ her, thinking I'd place the order 1.5 hours later when we got home. Unfortunately, when we got home, the scopes were already sold out.
