Im thinking of buying this rifle/scope combo, but do not know alot about the two brands. I talked to a few people who gave me their opinions, but would like some more if someone can help. Quality, durability etc. TIA

I have a Tikka 270 wsm and love it. Very smooth shooting, the bolt feels awesome, and has a very good out of the box trigger. The only problem I had was the scope ring screws would strip so I upgraded there and have been very happy.

I've never used or know of anybody using that kind of scope so I can't help you there.

I just bought a Tikka T3 (270 WSM) last spring with a Monarch 3-12 42.

Love the rifle, shoots great and seems to be durable so far.

I shoot a Tikka T3 in .300 WSM and love it. IMO you can't buy a better gun for the money. If you are sensitive to recoil then stay away from magnum calibers though. Mine is extremely light and has a significant recoil.

Tikka rifle....top notch. Should make you very happy.
Pentax scopes....depends on which one you get, what your expectations are and how much $$ you expect to spend. Like all the other scope manufacturers, Pentax sells a number of different product lines; level of quality correlates directly w/ the price. Do some online research re: the specific model/product line you're considering so you'll be happy w/ what you get.

I've never shot a tikka that threw bigger than one inch groups. They are great rifles. They blow everything in their price range out the water.

My dad has a T3 in .308
I went sight it in for him after he bought it and once I got it dialed in I shot a 6 shot group at 125 yards that you could cover with a quarter using the cheapest .308 bullets federal makes. Pretty sure my next rifle will be a tikka.

I have the 7 mm mag in the stainless super lite. It's a left handed model and I love it. It's very lite and sighting it in will leave some nasty shoulder bruises bc it kicks like a mule but it is super acurate around 150 yrds out the box. I have read where some people have filled the stock with packing peanuts to cut down recoil but I've never tried it.
