Let’s change the buffer to 3 miles (state waters)! Get these foreign companies and their lobbyists off our coasts. Why are we the only Gulf state allowing this “strip mining” of our natural resources? Sportsmen’s Paradise my arse…

While three (3) miles would be fantastic, in reality it took more than a decade to get just the 1/2 miles buffer we have now - that after one year the pogie lobby is already attempted to reduce to 1/4 mile.
I would love to see a ban on purse seins/pogie harvest from July-October first.
We will never get any politician with the huevos to jump straight to three (3) miles, but we can start with little steps.
