I don't want anything do do with battery power. I hope there's low frills version at some point.

Looking at the Dorado on the Austin Kayak website, looks like there's not a ton of leg room between seat and pedals though...and I'm 6'3" so need a little bit of space.

ETA: The electric motor add on is what I liked most...ability to have a lot longer range and seamlessly fitting into the pedal drive as one unit as opposed to something like the Torqueedo as a completely separate unit requiring removal of Mirage drive.

Just as a heads up the electric motor add is another $1,500 ON TOP of the $2,999 price tag.

Yeah saw that. Better option than adding Torqueedo or Bixby Jet if I ever got lazy or decided to expand my range.

The battery and electronics setup behind the seat is included in the $2999 price though right?

Do dealers usually get a demo model in before they go on sale or am I gonna have to wait until September to see one in person?

I can only dream lol. All of my boat money is going to tuition now. I finish in december so I'll be putting tuition cash towards boat savings. I have a wildnerness ride 11.5 that I snagged used for 400 and a jon boat/10hp that I traded a couple boxes of boudin for. I want a nice saltwater rig now

Same here. Saving for a 21’. Will pull the trigger as soon as the boys are old enough to take fishing.

I love my yak but damn it was nice to be back on a boat the past couple days.

The best part about my little jon is after work I dont have to paddle an hour to fish an hour and then paddle an your back. It gives me extra fishing time and my car gets 30 mpg pulling it. It isn't as peaceful as my yak though

I would like to have a boat as well, but am content with the yak. No maintenance, no storage, and the kayak community is top notch.

Probably not the right thread, but oh well.

With my daughter getting into fishing, I think I am going to upgrade my Jackson Coosa to a skiff.

Looked into them. I really wanted to get a Towee Seminole but they stopped making that version for some reason.

Looks like KC kayaks handed over their design to Kysek for better rotomolding?
