Most accuate I've shot Jaeger .338 win mag.
Most accurate I own, Winchester mod 70 in .243 wssm. Browning A-Bolt .270 is still my favorite, but the Winchester is more accurate.

In the case is my 270wsm. It is a Tikka. I put on a Lilja barrel, glass bedded it in a Manner's T4 MSC stock, Swarovski scope Z5 (3.5-18).
It is the second most accurate rifle I have ever shot. AKA "Le Loup Gris" (the grey wolf)

The other rifle is my 6.8 Stag Arms model 7 left handed. It is pretty accurate. AKA "Zombie Killa"

I hate to admit this, but the most accurate rifle I ever shot was a .308. It was a sniperfied bad arse piece of machinery. All you had to do was pull the trigger. Although, it weighed twice as much as my rifle. It was sick.

And yes, I name my rifles. I was in the Army 14 years. If you don't understand, you can kiss my rump.

Any idea where he was assigned? New Orleans NAS, South Carolina, or Arizona?

mylsuhat,

because I'm a diehard 270wsm guy. I love that caliber and I say it is better than .308

So, it is hard to eat crow and admit the most accurate rifle I ever shot was chambered in .308
Now, if the same $$ and equipment was put into a 270wsm rifle........

I can't say that I've ever shot an inaccurate .308

That round just looks right to me. Everything seems to be proportioned perfectly. I can't point to any science or anything as to why, but it just looks right.

I've never shot a 270 wsm. I tent to stray away from new fangled things.

I had a Tikka T3 Stainless .308 WIN that would perform the same way as your old man's, right out of the box. Operator error was the only thing that affected groupings. I own two Sako SS rifles now, a .270 WSM and a .300 WSM, both model 70, but the .300 is the "lite" model with fluted barrel, titanium mag, etc. Both will perform .5 with factory ammo. My .450 BUSHMASTER AR15 will consistently shoot 1" groups, which is pretty cool considering the load, and only one round available for it.

Those Finn's make some accurate weapons. I used to own a couple of M-39s, an M-28/30, and an M-27. The limit of their accuracy was the person pulling the trigger, me.

My next rifle will probably be a sako classic in 6.5x55 swede. I'm DYING to have a sako and it's no secret that I'm a huge fan of the swede.
