Do not take your kid to tent camp on grand isle in Jul, maybe November-April, but not July. Just rent a 70 room in Leeville and fish the marsh via kayak. Take a ride down the island after u fish and go to the state park an go up the tower to look at the gulf. Then back to the ac room!! The kid will enjoy and want to go back......If you tent camp with a kid in July he will be ruined forever

Took my wifes cousin from Wash St down there and besides the mosquitos dont forget the horseflys...he had me laughing the whole time. He had never seen bugs like that before.
