Thinking of taking my son camping for a night or two in the next month or two before it gets hot.
Is the campground worth a damn or is this a bad idea? We will of course be doing some fishing in the area, but it will be from land.

Just a flat open area with two rows of camper spaces behind the sand dunes. Easy walk to the surf for fishing though.

tent camping?
if so you can pitch tent on beach, wont be any electricity and youll have to carry your equipment but the wind from the sea will keep some of the bugs off
or you can camp in the actual campground and have electricity and not have to worry about the carrying of supplies - bring bug spray
for fishing, this time of the year you best bet is off LA1 rather than surf fishing

Yes, tent camping.
Thanks for the information. I will probably plan on just staying in the campground then.

the campground is nice, there a nature trail and a big pier you can walk out on. the fishing around there is better in the summer.
Bring some crab nets and set them inside the pond in the park. people usually catch a few there, and it will give yall something to do while not fishing.
I've seen people catch a few fish in the little pond inside the park too.
if you email me geaux23td@gmail.com I can give yall a few spots to try to fish too

Awesome. We will def. bring our crab traps and some hand lines to catch crabs. Hell, I might even bring my pot and burner.
My kid is insane about fishing. It's all he thinks about when not in school.
