BB gun and she'll find out fast which eye is dominant.

You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.

My kid has a buck 105 and the trigger is so fn heavy he needs 2 or 3 fingers to pull it. Its so inaccurate that hitting a beer can with it at 10 yards is not a sure thing.

I tried that route and if they can't hit anything it's not worth it. A 22lr bolt gun is much better.

I tried teaching my 5yr old, problem is even the smallest bb gun is still too big for them.

Now my youngest is currently 5 and I wouldn't give him a nerf gun. Every kid is different.

True. I've seen that with both of my boys. We did a big camping trip a few years ago, and part of the activities were shooting. We had a few .22s, some shotguns for clays, and an AR-15. My oldest was the only one on this trip with me, as little brother was 3 at the time. But the older one had no interest in shooting, even the old bb gun I brought along for some of the younger kids. He loves camping and playing outside, but guns just aren't his thing. The younger one has shown an interest, but not responsible enough yet to hand him anything other than the bb gun.

I’ll drop my 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old off at your house for a week

If they can shoot when I pick them up that’s just a bonus

I have 3 kids, 2 boys and a girl. I know the pull t try to get them out there with you. When they were real small they each had a toy "real" gun. We would sit around on buckets and practice gun safety. When/if you pointed you gun at someone you were out for the day. We would eat candy, talk about bat man, just fun kid stuff. This did two things, everyone loved the hang out session and everyone got distracted and gave multiple teaching moments each session. This morphed into them carrying my old .410 to the blind before they were ready to shoot. If they made a gun safety mistake they could try again next year. All my kids started duck hunting with me when they were 3 so there was a big runway until they were ready to hunt.

I will turn your 5yr old into a competitive shooter
I will turn your 3yr old into a brass catcher.
I will turn your 1yr old over to authorities

Mine started with ruger 10/22

bought aftermarket adjustable stock pistol grip

use bog deathgrip tripod.

Now he is 10 and shooting 308 with a can and knocking down hammers. great progression, loving it.

I like to teach shooting around 9 years old, but there is a Cricket bolt action which is a short .22 rifle. My brother used one to teach his kids to shoot when they were younger.
