Suppressor suppresses the expansion of gases leaving the barrel behind the bullet. Which causes for a reduced noice signature and recoil.
Compensator uses the expansion of gases leaving the barrel to reduce recoil. Which often increases the noice signature for the shooter and your buddy next to you.
