Out with a buddy on his lease this weekend checking his cams and filling feeders we've discovered that he's had another feeder and camera stolen. This makes two feeders and 3 cameras. 3 sides of his property is private owned, he knows them and they have a pretty good relationship. One side of his property Is public hunting. He's seen a few messicans hunting the public land frequently. He's getting pretty pissed and not sure what to do. Suggestions?

Put up lazers that go off when crossed around his place that start shooting maching guns when tripped. Like in the movie Congo...

Put cameras on the cameras. Make sure they have no flash and put them high in a tree, angled down towards the "bait" camera. May need to bring a ladder or climber in the woods to mount it. Or stop putting the cameras/feeders on that side of the property. Sucks, but that may be the only way to stop em.

get the cheapest trail camera or even a broken one and hang it in a visible/obvious area. Then hide another camera up in a tree and aim it at the dummy cam. If he really wanted to go all out then he could get a find a 500$+ dummy camera so then he could charge the thief with a felony. Good luck telling one messican from another though....

Another thing is to build some box blinds so a trespasser couldn't tell if the stand was occupied or not. Of course they don't have to functioning stands but rather they only need to give the thief the uncertainty of someone in them.

ETA Slickback beat me to the dummy camera

Hook up to a car battery or electric fence. Make sure ground under camera and feeder is really wet.

My brother has had two cameras and two feeders stolen from his stand also. We hunt in an area known for local poachers. It is very frustrating and makes you pissed off when you get in your stand

I've found cams/feeders on my property that we've used for target practice.
