Most of my fishing has been dedicated to Bass and im kinda green when it comes to catching Reds and trout. All I been using is shrimp and mullets but have no idea what kind of artificial baits work, any advice is appreciated.

nice location.....

carolina rigged live bait works.

reds-spinner baits with cocahoe plastics, popping corks, spoons
specks-popping corks, double rigged plastic cocahoes, suspending twitch baits, topwaters

Soft plastics like Saltwater Assassin or Deadly Dudley's do pretty well. If you like topwater, She Dogs and Top Dog, Jrs are hard to beat. Chartreuse is usually good on anything, bit a lot of colors draw bites.

Soft plastics can be popped under a cork or bounced across the bottom slowly. Pretty versatile baits down there.

good fall-back bait is always a clear sparkle beetle on a red headed hook, sometimes under a cork, sometimes bumped on the bottom, sometimes swimming it back.
smoke colored touts are good
avocado green cocaho with red glitter is better
glow is good
i'll stop now before i hit thesis mode, unless you want more

Go to Superior Bait on Siegen. It's more expensive, but Mark knows what the hell you'll need. He set me up w the basics when I first started saltwater. I still use most of the colors/baits he started me with. Great guy.
