Third person, I like it.

Thanks for all the work you do. I there anything in the works that is similar to North/south farm at Sherburne. I wouldn't mind seeing the WLF take areas in some other WMAs and developing them for ducks and then regulating the number of hunters. Hopefully they would hold birds unlike north farm though.

I'm swamped with public comment, and I've got to leave for the Flyway meeting Saturday morning, so I'm trying to lay low ...

Currently, there are no plans for that kind of development. We aren't doing very well at keeping up with what we have, and we've added large acreages (Maurepas Swamp, Wham Brake, and others) without any additional staff.

I hear ya. Its just so damn frustrating year after year having all this awesome duck habitat across the state with so few of it holding any birds.

For ex. Maurepas Swamp - I know back in the day its was a jewel, just from what I have heard there haven't been any ducks there worth hunting in years.
60k acres of swamp and no birds.

You're an idiot, we don't have water later in season in marsh.

The OP is not lonely. The public comment is currently dominated by those wanting a later season in the Coastal Zone.

I do a lot of my hunting in North Texas which usually opens the first Saturday in November. I love the early start date. November is usually our best month.
