They got some fish in that canal that runs parallel to airline highway
I used to fish it when I was bored in my kayak
That's about all I got

Yup a lot.

Fill out LDWLF user permit as they patrol the area this time of the year. It what they green little stand is next to the Northern most and larger launch.

Nice large launch on the North and smaller nice launch on the Southern part of the area with nice dock.

Gateway to petite Amite, Blind River, Dutch Bayou, and few other canals which I will not mention.

It more wind than tide driven.

I like when water right out of the woods and not too low.

You can do ok and there are a lot of smaller bass bass 1/2 lb to 2 lb on larger side. I have caught some 4 lb and 5lb bass out of the area also.

This time of the year go early or during the week before the ski boats and pleasure boats start cruising around.

I don't think you need a user permit as long as you don't get out of your boat. Fishing only - no user permit required.

as others said, if its a pretty day, the boat traffic will kill the main river.

Why would you need a user permit ? Good fishing near interstate too or not? I see boats in there when driving by. Are the fish along Airline oily? Fish used to be oily along Airline in Norco.

I've launched and fished or just or just boat rode many times. Never filled out that permit thing, matter of fact I didn't even know about it

So what would this permit be called? I don’t see any reference to it on their website.

The permit he is referencing is a LDWF WMA permit. I don't think you need to fill it out, but FYI, you can download the app and fill them out on your phone now.

I think it's more for their records on who was in the wma that day. In case something goes down.

There is a local bass tournament that runs out of that launch every Tuesday afternoon from 5:00pm until safe light. Usually about 15-25 boats on any given Tuesday.

Wednesday it's many of the same folks with another tournament that launches from the Reserve Canal, from 5:30pm until sage light

WMA self clearing permit.

For most activities on a WMA, you have to fill one out at one of those green check in stations but they have a phone app now also. But you aren’t required to fill one out if you’re fishing from a boat as long as you stay on the boat the entire time.

I think they mainly use the permits just to keep tabs on how many people are using a particular WMA, what activities, and help get an idea of kill numbers during hunting season
