Never thought of using a strap, I just hang them off my belt loops.

Had a buddy used to hang em off his belt with string. He looked like he was wearing a red hula skirt when he walked out the woods.

I've seen some old timers with a military style belt with metal grommets and metal hooks I want to say where you can put your game onto it. Wouldn't mind finding something like that.
