Will definitely be a gamble...hard to compete with an established tree

Bootlegger.

I have a bermuda lawn and it's just starting to come in. I had some broadleaf I killed with 24d. I also, put down some 0-0-7 pre m.

Problem is I have a lot of poa annua, a lot. Should I spray msma or stay on a pre m regiment until it gets rid of it?

Poa annua (as the name states) is an annual. Since you didn't prevent it, don't waste the money on killing it, wait it out and let the heat do it. Put down Simazine in the fall.

It would be cheaper to turn those areas into landscape beds. Using the tiller would damage the roots and potentially cause you problems with the trees in the future.

Bootlegger,

Suggestions for sunny bare spots in a centipede lawn? If seed how long until results show?

Second, Crabgrass? In the patches that are bad I sprayed liberally with Roundup 2 weekends ago. Plan to follow with another application this weekend. What about the patches where it's a sprig or two?

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen....

I think that's the route I'm gonna have to go. Mulch and some shade friendly shrubs.

I'd slap some sod in the bare spots. Would take 2-3 weeks for seeds to herminte, and another 6 weeks or so to establish. If the sod dies, you need to start checking pH and such.

Crabgrass....sucks. In a centipede lawn, find some Tenacity.

Use mason sand if you have any edges exposed on the new sod used to fill the holes. Sand will help the edges of the sod from drying out while the sod gets established.

New homeowner and first time dealing with lawn care. Lawn certainly needs some work. I believe it is St Augustine in the front. I have a bunch of clover and a few spots that don't get much sun that are getting a little thin. also have a sprinkler system in front. What should I have that set on at this point? Also have a lot of weeds coming up through pebble walkway. What would be good to knock those out? I've done some weed killer but they are popping up at a fast rate.

The back is a mess. One thing at a time though right. I appreciate any help as I am obviously clueless

Go to the local hardware store and buy Trimec product.. Fertilome WeedFreeZone is a good one. That should knock out your clover/broadleaf issue. Sprinkler system should be set to water thoroughly, but only every few days. You want to have deep, healthy roots, and by letting the soil get fairly dry between waterings, you are forcing the roots to chase the water down into the ground. Any cheap knockoff of roundup (glyphosate) at 2oz/gal will kill weeds in the sidewalk.

Awesome thanks. Should I be fertilizing at this time especially the less dense areas?

Take the weeds out first. No sense in feeding them, too.

Is there a name brand 0-5-15 fertilizer? My centipede looks like crap compared to most of the yards in my neighborhood (even ones that don't seem to do anything to their lawns) and after reading your post I wonder if I have been adding to much nitrogen.

Do a quick Google of centipede decline.

I use Florikan and Holganix products on my lawn.

Alright, I have a large section of yard that is separated from any grassy areas. It has never had sod. I want to kill everything here except for a few trees and then spread grass seed. What can I spread and where can I get it? Thanks

Yes it's time to fertilize. When bermuda lawns are 50 percent greened up I start fertilizing. Then go every 6 weeks until the fall.
