I would think a single stack 9 like the Kahr CW9/CM9/PM9 would be a better choice for a woman than the G26. If recoil w/ the lighter Kahr's is a problem, Kahr also makes all metal single stack 9's, as well. From a shooting standpoint, I think a small 9mm would be a better choice for a woman than a pocket 380.

Agreed.
I believe the stainless is called the K9. It is a bit more expensive, but the added weight will tame the recoil. The slim grip of single stacks is perfect for smaller hands.

I would be wary of getting a kahr for a woman to carry. I have a p9 which is the same size as the CW9 and the shoot-ability and conceal-ability are great on this gun but the slide is very difficult to rack. I would say a brand new gun is almost impossible for a novice to rack unless they have serious hand strength. It was over 200 rds through mine before I felt even marginally comfortable racking my slide but even now it is very very stiff.
I am sure it will improve as I pump out rounds but not sure at what point I would feel comfortable having my SO carry it unless she is committed to practicing with it.

Although I understand women have less hand strength, proper technique would really help out here.
These pictures came from Bing images but they still show improper and proper form:
WRONGGGGG!!!!
RIGHTTTTT!!!! (although your hand shouldn't necessarily cover the ejection port)
